On NCCRPG we have a different approach to the Anime and Manga. This is in the spirit of originality and yes, Custom Characters. Everyone wants a KG, and our system eliminates the need for a KG to strictly consist of 2-3 elements, ie Haku's Ice or Hashirama's Wood. Below is a list of how many elements your rank can use, and the level at which they would be able to use them.
Genin:
Typically a fresh genin will have only discovered his/her affinity, and will not be able to use any sort of release. As a note, your affinity element will always be your most powerful element, and there will be certain jutsu that you can only use if it matches your affinity. Keep that in mind when you are creating your character. It is only when the genin has become and experienced (Genin+) that he/she will be able to use elemental Jutsu.
Chunin:
As a chuunin you will have access to a second element. It goes without saying that you now have advanced the skill with your first element, but you would not have mastered it. As such, more training is required with your affinity. The second element is much harder to learn, as it is not something that you would be accustomed to, and may find it difficult to use in battle. When you achieve the rank of Chuunin+, it will signify that you have a great understanding of your affinity and also a decent understanding of your second element.
Special Jonin:
When you achieve the rank of Spec. Jonin you are allowed to start training with your complex element, such as Ice (Hyouton) or Wood (Mokuton). Though, as the previous stages imply, your mastery of the element will come over time.
Jonin:
As a jonin you have likely mastered your affinity element and your second element, and are nearing mastery of your complex element. After maintaining your training and diligence, and at your respective Kage or Staff's discretion, you will be allowed to utilize a third element.
Elite Jonin / Sennin:
If you are skilled enough to reach this level, then it is likely that you have mastered most or all of your elements. As a reward for such esteemed play, you will be awarded a second complex element. Over time you will master that element as well.
Kage:
After being appointed a Kage you will be granted a third complex element. If you lose this position you will still be able to use the third complex element.
A simple cheat sheet looks like this:
Genin: 1 Basic Element (Affinity identified, not useable as elemental jutsu until Genin+)
Chuunin: 2 Basic Elements (Second one learned, No complex elements)
Spec. Jonin: 2 Basic Elements, 1 Complex Element
Jounin: 3 Basic Elements, 1 complex (The 3rd is learned at your Kage's approval)
Sennin: 3 Basic Elements, 2 Complex
Kage: 3 Basic Elements, 3 Complex
There are 5 elements in the world of Naruto and each of the five major ninja villages has a corresponding element.
These are earth, fire, wind, lightning, and water.
When using these as Ninjutsu they can be referred to as the following:
Katon = Fire.
Suiton = Water.
Fuuton = Wind.
Raiton = Electricity.
Doton = Earth.
When using a jutsu involving these elemental releases a ninja must convert their chakra to the corresponding element and mold it, this is where handseals come into play. No jutsu can ever be used without Handseals.
Take the 5 basic elements and combine them with each other you can come up with 10 new elements. The five original elements will be considered as the "Basic elements" and the new elements created by combing Basic elements without retaining their own individual properties would be called, [b["Advanced Elements". Any Elements being used that are mixed together and still retain individual qualities of both elements, are called Combination Elements.
Advanced Elements and Combination Elements are covered Below.
Advanced Elements:
Below is a list of the Advanced Elements possible of acquiring on the NCCRPG.
We'd like to point out that Wind+Wind does not make sound, and Fire+Fire does not create Combustion. Sound is Simply a catalyst created by some sort of musical device and manipulated with chakra to be harmful.
Suiton + Katon = Futton (Boil/Steam)
Suiton + Fuuton = Hyouton (Ice)
Suiton + Doton = Mokuton (Wood/Forestry)
Doton + Fuuton = Jinton (Sand/Dust)
Raiton + Suiton = Ranton (Storm)
Katon + Doton = Youton (Lava/Magma)
Katon + Raiton = Purton (Plasma)
Wind + Fire = Combustion
Wind + Lighting = Static
Earth + Lightning =Magnetism
Advanced Elements In Depth.
- There are no exact rules discerning just what you can do with each element, but remember that we grace you with the trust that you won't use any element in a form/attribute that it cannot take through chakra manipulation.
-Keep in mind that these are NOT all of their attributes, but merely suggestions or how these elements are used. You're not being pigeon-held by these descriptions. We are only hoping to make a decent example to provide a sample of what each element can do.
(P.S. We'd also like to add that many terms and uses are based on Skill and training in such things like speed and power, and nothing is written in stone about speed and power. They are merely bases.)

Suiton + Fuuton = Hyouton (Ice)
Attributes: Ice is pretty simple since it's something we all deal with on a day to day basis.
-Solid
-Snow
-Durable
-Melts
Suiton + Katon = Futton (Boil/Steam)
Attributes: To put it simply, think of Steam as searing hot Mist. As well as Boil as simply searing hot Water.
-Liquid
-Burns
-Steam exerts Severe Pressure
- A powerful corrosive vapour capable of melting certain objects(High Rank and a lot of Training to melt anything of note). The user is also able to control the range and level of the vapor's acidity. Though it's not actually acid, it's basically stating that the searing properties are somewhat relevant to the destructive force that of an acidic nature.
Suiton+Doton = Mokuton (Wood/Forestry)
Attributes: Wood is a solid force, though slower than things like water/lightning in tendril-like forms, it's easier to access, and branches/trees provide a natural canvas for surprise attacks. A very balanced element in attack/defense. Also can create things like Vines, Plants, Leaves, Etc.
-Durable/One of the most Versatile elements
-Easily Manipulated in surroundings
-Instant Cages, Homes, Lodging for adventuring
-Viable attacks through roots and plants.
-Healing properties found in growing special plants and herbs, or by using regenerating jutsu in a Medical Ninjutsu Style.
Doton + Fuuton = Jinton (Sand/Dust)
Note: Dust Release from the Naruto Show/Manga was way too Overpowered to be fair on the board. We'll keep the visuals the same, but the way it works will be different.
-Pressurized Bombs of Dust and Wind, that explode causing a giant cloud of dust to impede vision, following by wind elemental chakra that slices.
-Smokescreens
-Much like Mist Jutsu, but viewed as a combination between Mist/Smoke/Ash. As a Dust Cloud would cause enemies to choke on the element. Whilst they can breathe Mist without hindrance.
-Can move like Sand, but faster. (Due to being much lighter)
-Much weaker defensively than Sand.
-Bombs require preparation as well as the fact that they MUST be made in between the hands before releasing.
Raiton + Suiton = Ranton (Storm)Despite the name of this nature, it does not manipulate storms; it instead manipulates beams of electricity that flow like water. The name is more symbolic, representing the names of the natures used to create this nature. The color varies from the Grays/Blues/Greens.
-Works like Liquid Electricity.
-Has a stunning/Paralyzing Nature
-Attacks are able to Home in on opponents like lightning, though not nearly as fast.
-Extremely Malleable
Katon + Doton = Youton (Lava/Magma)
-Liquid fire incarnate
-Slower than water/boil elements, but can melt things quicker/more effectively. (IE; Earth)
-More strength defensively than Boil/Plasma
-A thick, sturdy form of attacking with fire.
-Easier to control/contain than Plasma/Boil/Storm
-With the right timing, can erupt beneath enemies.(Fairly speaking, that is. There would be an obvious rumble beforehand, and a while of preparation would be required.)
-Can fuel itself and grow on it's own if left to fester on good earth.
Katon + Raiton = Purton (Plasma)
-Like Lava, it is Liquid Fire.
-Possesses a numbing/paralyzing agent. (Like that of Storm, though not as extreme. While Storm is more Lightning Based than Water, Plasma is more Fire Based than Lightning.)
-Much faster than Magma. More fluid also.
-Quick searing/stunning whips as well as being very strong in projectile form, due to being able to heat/zap through weak defenses.
-Usually varies in color from reddish/orange/yellow blotches.
-Like Storm, it's very unpredictable and hard to control in physical combat.
Wind + Lighting = Static
Static is a suppressed version of lightning. While lessened in strength and speed, it is used for more control and maneuverability. While lightning can arc and is pretty much useless when it's fired and misses, Static can be used to add homing attacks to Kunai/Shuriken/Projectiles to chase targets for a short time. (Within Reason. Nothing is undogde-able or unblock-able.) While it's true that Static is more of a secondary ability, it's one of a primary element user's greatest assets. (If someone uses mostly one element, but can get Static. Then uses it to base the rest of his attacks and improve his abilities for accuracy/stun with other elements/styles.)
-Homing abilities.
-Coat weapons with paralyzing abilities
-Physical attacks can be coated and used for aggressive strikes that can stun/immobilize body parts.
-Can throw off things like magnetism/Other homing devices.
-Subtle and hard to detect
Earth + Lightning =Magnetism
Magnetism is another type of secondary attribute, when used correctly, can aid other types of attacks as well as it's own.
-Can redirect certain lightning based attacks. (Within Reason)
-A Metal user's worst nightmare.
-Easily disarm opponents using metal weaponry/armaments.(Within Reason. AKA;No insta-killing real characters wearing a necklace/armor. Use common sense to fairness.)
-Rather taxing when used, as it is a rather complex element.
Katon + Fuuton = Combustion
Combustion is one of the most iffy elements on the site. While the name suggests that it can randomly create explosions from nothing at anytime, that obviously can't be the case and remain fair to other players at the same time. So every explosion must have a chakra molded, then ignited by the user's seals. Think of it s sending out chakra s step one,nd then condesnsing it and igniting it, then having it explode in reaction to the heat/wind combination. Thus creating. Fair explosion that is not instnt, but is still powerful.
-The highest strength human-made explosives.
-Must post about molding chakra into the targetted area. (Giving fair time to dodge/block)
-Handseals ignite
-Users are not automatically immune to the force/knockback of this element. They can easily avoid being scorched, but unless highly skilled and descriptive, any attack in vicinity of the user will throw them backwards/forwards. If not, be creative as to why.
Combination Elements.
Neutral Elements.
Supplementary.
You may be wondering what the difference between Combination Elements and Advanced Elements is.
In short, it's this: Advanced Elements combine two Basic Elements to form an entirely new element. While Combination Elements fuse two or more Elements and retain the specific qualities of each element. (Crystal Being an exception, as it's just a style of Earth.)
-Combination Elements and Neutral Elements do not take up an element slot.
-You have the ability to make as many as your elements/abilities allow.
-This is not a complete list, and if you have a suggestion, you may submit it for review.
The Combo Elements may not be as powerful as Advanced, although they do have many practical uses. We will leave it up to you, the players, to decide how to use them. As long as you remain within the realm of the Naruto World, and the regulations of Acceptable Techniques on the NCCRPG.
A Neutral Element is something that cannot be made out of existing natural elements, and instead uses RP construction/training/affinity/Bloodline to allow the use of elements such as Oil, Crystal, Metal, etc.
Note that Crystal and Metal will NEVER be unbreakable, though, in reality, they would be very hard. Anything overboard will be banned immediately. ((Hardness Scale, and things of that nature are of no reality here, therefore, you won't be able to create things that go overboard in Hardness and Strength. Diamonds will simply break as easily as any other Crystal, and so on. It all depends on the Rank of the Character as well as the Rank of the Jutsu/opposing attack.))
The most important thing to know is,
Neutral Elements and Combo Elements are not set in stone, they are not solid bases of any rules or regulations, and will be handled on a case by case basis. There are anomalies that are almost impossible to break down that simply coincide with your own elements and skill as a Role Player.
Some elements cannot be categorized but do exist as VARIATIONS of your own element. (Ex: Forestry users creating Sap. Suiton Users making gelatin or Syrup.) Things like this are simply created by you. That's referred to as supplementary jutsu. And contain no set element. (Kawarimi, Simple Clones, Genjutsu, Seals, Etc.)
Like stated above, and to not cause confusion, they will all be handled on a case by case basis by your own Kage or Admin.
The list below are merely suggestions. Based off of what characters have currently used on NCC and by no means are all of the supplementary/neutral/combo styles. As stated before, these hold no element slot, though a natural affinity for their kind is recommended.
Supplementary jutsu such as Light/Dark/Poison/Etc are made up entirely of chakra. Substituting elemental control. Thus why they do not hold an element slot.
Earth + Fire = Ash
Ash is a combination element, and one of the most versatile.
-Works almost like gunpowder.
-Can make clouds of smoke that ignite and explode. (See; Asuma: Burning Ash.)
- Very Visible.
-Can be traced by visuals and scent.
-Can be blown away or doused to remove explosive force.
Earth + Water = Mud
Mud is very simple. It contains a hardened and thick state, while keeping the fluidity and ferocity of water.
Fire + Earth (Without the Advanced Properties) Would be Metal. All Metal Will be able to Rust, Weigh more, and even conduct Electricity and Magnetism Jutsu. Nothing is Unbreakable or invincible.)
-Categorized by skill level and jutsu level. That's what defines it's hardness.
-Quickly forge weapons and defenses.
-Much harder than earth
-You cannot insta-kill/control anyone wearing metal. Keep it fair. You know what to do.
Below are a few simple suggestions of things that can be created within reason. As we don't want to create any cookie cutters, or go around in circles and create confusion, we will keep it short.
Earth Elemental = Crystal
Crystal is a variation of earth. They vary from any color imaginable. Solid for defense and projectiles as well as weaponry. Think of it as a byproduct of using earth. Beautiful to look at as well as a very balanced and formidable style.
Poison.
Poison is a supplementary style. When created and used in battle, they follow similar rules to Genjutsu. Nothing instantly lethal. (Killing blows/Finishers/Etc. are the exception. As with all elements/jutsu.) Most of which would simply cause different side effects, much like genjutsu. Works like mist or smog.
Suiton affinity = Oil/Syrup.
Another supplementary style. Oil is extremely slick and flammable. Cannot take a misty form.
Syrup is extremely sticky and is useful for binding opponents. (See; Kotestu & Izumo Vs. Hidan.)
These are mostly created to give you a general idea of just what you can do with certain elements and combinations without being hindered by an element slot. They are by no means all of them. If you have any questions please contact an Admin or Moderator.
