The scream wasn't human, wasn't even animal, but came from a monster's own nightmare. And somewhere over The Village Hidden in the Leaves, that scream sounded out loud and long.
Steggo awoke to find clear sky above himself, a jagged rent torn in the leafy canopy that should have shaded him. Several trees had been torn down or ripped in half by his impact, and the hole he'd left in crashing through those trees had allowed a cold rain to play down onto his face. The rain washed some of the grime and blood from his twisted, ruined mouth, and he growled quietly to himself, feeling those metal pins that held his jaw together grating inside his skull. One of them must have been damaged by the impact.
The scream came again, echoing across the area, seeming to come from everywhere and nowhere all at the same time. Steggo raised his weary, ringing head, feeling his blood seeming to pump through his brain, his own pulse a devil's drumbeat that both woke him from his unconsciousness and drove his thoughts into oblivion. He tried to speak but it just ground his jaw painfully, so he tried to get up but that hurt too. Eventually he settled on using the great stone tail he controlled, using it as a lever to force himself to his feet and then as an anchor to stop him immediately falling back down again.
In short, everything really hurt.
"Gotta move..." he finally managed to croak to himself, as that scream rang out a third time. The beast he'd been wrestling with had thrown him a good distance but he must've only been unconscious a matter of minutes at most, and with his muscles finally responding he took off, lumbering awkwardly after the sound. He wasn't even sure where he was now but his enemy was clearly here and so he must carry on their battle, carry on chasing it, carry on trying to force it into submission.
His tail flicked irritably as he at last managed to break into a run, its four deadly foot-long spikes splashing the monster's blood against a broad oak as he passed. That beast had tried to put him down but the fight was still on.
That Bijuu wasn't going to be done with him so easily.

Post by Kohga on Oct 15, 2016 5:53:46 GMT
Somewhere on the outskirts of what had been Konoha, a monstrous roar was heard. Loud and long it sounded off, shaking the very earth that the Hokage stood upon. In Kohga’s time he had heard many a roar, a dragons even, and this may have even trumped that. Which meant one thing: a Bijuu was close. Kohga gripped his left arm tight, id had only been weeks since he got the damned thing, and was still playing it easy. His metal arm shone in the light, and The Hokage had a thought. With a bijuu under my control, it would be much easier to rebuild and expand the Leaf. With that thought, he flung the door open from Kaneda’s shack and vanished with a great burst of speed towards the monster.
Kohga’s feet splashed gently through the mud as he tore through the forest around him, he could not waste any time. It was likely that anyone who had heard the monstrous cry would likely be thinking the very same thing. Again, the scream tore through the rain with ease, drowning out any and all sounds. This time, it was closer, and Kohga stopped momentarily. He had never come across a tailed beast, let alone fight one. Yes, he fought a dragon, but that was training. This time he could die. He clenched his fist violently, a metal clang heard from his left. He would not back down, for the sake of the village, he would not. He could not. Again, he broke into a sprint. His goal unchanged, his confidence unwavering. After several minutes of running, a third roar was heard. This time, Kohga heard a new tone. Pain, agony even. It seemed that the monster was injured. “Shit! Im too late.” He growled behind clenched teeth. This wasn’t all bad, however, that means the person or persons fighting the beast could not be uninjured. If Kohga had to, he would kill them off after. Then Kohga came upon a clearing, the floor covered in mud and blood. Someone was obviously here a short time ago, the blood was still not as cold as the rain. Kohga scanned the area, and saw what looked like a trail of blood leading to the Monsters direction. He would break off into a run in that direction, he wanted to see the man who was fighting this beast, and ascertain whether he was friend or foe. After all, the man could not have gotten far quickly, not with those injuries.
Just as he thought, Kohga was on the man in less than a minute, he too was running, but injured as he was Kohga was faster in this moment. What he then saw, nearly floored him. A long stone tail with giant spikes protruding from it. There was only one man in the world who had that, and nearly every single shinobi knew of him. It was Steggo Gunsotsu, the legendary rogue, who has served more villages than one. His interest piqued, Kohga had to know what Steggo wanted, though it was likely the great man would not be in the mood to talk. In a brilliant display of skill and speed, Kohga swept around the man’s flank and grinded to a halt in front of him, stopping several feet out of his perceived reach, tail included. Kohga’s modified Hokage robe fluttered in the wind and rain, his arm making small “tinking” noises from the rain hitting it, his eyes locked onto Steggo’s figure. “State your name and business in this land, comply or be dealt swift disciplinary action.”he spoke firmly. Kohga really was not looking for a fight, not with someone of Steggo’s ability, but he was the Hokage, and he had to determine the right course of action. If the legend was hostile, then Kohga would have no choice. A fourth roar sounded off, the beast growing further away, probably looking to lick its wounds. “Answer quickly, I have urgent business to attend to.”
The two ex-sand stood meters apart. What would Steggo do?

Steggo's tail flashed out and slammed into the ground, the thick stone spikes tearing up earth as they ground the wounded shinobi's progress to a halt. He glared across at the figure who had leapt out in front of him, ready to assess this new foe in order to smash him aside as quickly as possible and get back to what mattered, but he was stopped suddenly by the sight before him. A face he knew, looking scarred now and with a strange metal noise from his left arm, but the man before him could not be mistaken.
"Kohga..." he growled, voice rasping from both pain and his damaged jaw. Steggo tasted blood in his mouth, and resisted the urge to spit it to one side. His next words were crushed from hearing, however, by another of those dreadful screams, seeming to come from right above them now. "More important things to do now, don't ya think? You know that sound. Come on, you'll be useful."
Taking off again, Steggo leapt up into the nearest tree, vaulting from one branch to the next until moments later he stood at the top of a huge pine. No sooner had his head broken through the leaves, however, than he had to duck back down from an astonishing wind, and a terrible wailing buzz engulfed all sound. For powering through the air towards him came Chōmei, the Seven-Tailed Beetle, its massive wings decimating the tops of the trees as it crashed through them before ripping upwards into the sky, the force of its movement taking two huge trees clear out of the ground, smashing through the forest on either side of where Steggo stood.
This was his greatest challenge. On the ground he fought his best, his mastery of the Earth element unparalleled. In the air, however, he would have only what he took with him. He formed a flurry of handseals as the massive beast made another fly-past, and thick tendrils of earth began shooting up the length of the pine, wrapping quickly around his hands, his feet, his legs and his chest and finally his head.
He shook himself to ensure that every piece was in place, for this was his masterpiece: The Tower. A Jutsu that covered every inch of his body in tiny plates of earth throughout which he focused his chakra so that to anyone who could see chakra concentration his entire body was almost blinding. On his left shoulder was emblazong the symbol of his office, a mark to signify his single promise to himself and to all who met him, and his insignia was this Tower. Unbreakable, unstoppable, perfect. His every muscle crackled with energy and every inch of his skin felt electrified. His control of this technique was so complete he could even cover his eyes, forming tiny plates which could allow light to pass through them but be controlled to protect him from blinding lights, from painful dusts or even from poison gasses, and a nigh-invisible layer even formed around the inside of his mouth and throat, so that he could still speak but without risk of being stabbed in the mouth or of breathing in a toxin.
"Whatever you have, I'm ready!" he declared aloud, roaring his defiance to the sky, his thick, powerful tail swishing violently. The Bijuu came round for another pass and he jumped, leaping bolding into the air to tackle the creature head-on, launching a hugely-powerful punch with one fist and swinging that mighty tail with the other to crash both into the Beast's head at the same instant.
The battle was on!

Post by Kohga on Oct 26, 2016 11:32:45 GMT
The Hokage stifled a smile as Steggo mentioned his name. After all, a ninja like him even knowing your name was noteworthy and something not everyone could say. His glee was short-lived as he winced slightly as the creature wailed above the two great ninja, its voice was unlike anything he had ever heard before. The roar drowned out the other mans words, and while Kohga was no lip reader, he could make out some words. "Important, Come on, Useful." Those words and Steggo's current physical condition suggested that he was asking for help, in a round-a-bout way. A literal winged demon flew menacingly through the air, no doubt angered by the monster that stood before him. Kohga took a moment to decide, but Steggo did not wait, he flew up into the trees, seemingly anxious to return to the fight he had most likely started. "Can't be helped." Kohga muttered to himself. He watched as the tailed man leapt from branch to branch high into the canopy, and groaned. He didn't much like fighting in the trees, or in the air, or hand to hand for that matter. This was going to be a pain, and in that moment, Kohgas eyes changed from colorful to a dull gray. "No sense in holding back here." Not but a few seconds after Steggo reached the top, did the treetops become severed by the giant wings of the bijuu. Followed almost immediately by the uprooting of two very large trees. One of the two was going to crush Kohga if he were to simply do nothing. Fortunately for him, he had full control over anything that contained carbon. Lucky him. As the tree began to crash and snap through the branches of its kin, Kohga weaved his signature seals, and glared into the tree. The massive tree's mid section would burst into a cloud of carbon dust, leaving the top and bottom sections of the tree to crash around him, leaving him unscathed and well armed. His mastery of his doujutsu would be shown here, mainly because Kohga had to show Steggo that he was not going to fall behind. In the same instant that he dismantled the tree that was careening towards him, Kohga dismantled every tree within his range, which happened to be 6 yards in all directions. His actions would cause any tree in his sphere of influence to topple over just as the two before had, since the ones closest to him would have rather large sections vanish in an instant. While the trees on the outer side may have just been weakened be taking a chunk from the base. This, too, would include the tree that Steggo was in. Rather unfortunate that Kohga had not thought of that before hand. Surely enough Steggo would have words for him later. While all this was happening, Kohga glimpsed the legendary man, and saw stone tendrils rise up and begin to cover him. "Curious." He thought to himself. It must have been some sort of armor, a sensible action when going up against a foe of this magnitude. A smile crept over Kohga's face. That’s exactly what his new arm was for, fighting bijuu. The unique nature of bijuu chakra, rather. His arm was meant designed to be able to absorb a tailed beast bomb, the problem with that was, it had never been tested. Making this a crucial moment, and potentially deadly. He was somewhat glad Steggo was here now, the two could weaken the beast and Kohga could collect data. Now, Chomei had risen high into the sky, a stunning sight to behold. Its seven wings blazing through the air, tearing the silence of a serene forest apart. Then it charged back down, aiming to attack and possibly obliterate the surrounding area. Just as Kohga sped through his seals, he saw something that baffled him. Steggo charged at the beast dead on, punching and swinging his massive tail at the beast. Insanity. Moments before impact, seven brilliant clones would arise from the chaos of destroyed trees. One of the pinnacles of his doujutsu, pure diamond clones. They were resilient beyond belief, and contained identical power and speed to their creator, which was nothing to turn one's nose up at. In the near blink of an eye Kohga and a single clone dashed to the furthest edge of the ring of now dead trees so that he could keep an eye on the situation. Four would flank the right and left sides of the beasts above, two on each side respectively. While the final two would try and gauge where Steggo would land should he be blown back by the force of the seven-tails. He had to keep his ally alive in this fight, if they both were to make it out alive.
Activated:
(Shikō no kābon sōsagan) Supreme Carbon Manipulation Type: Kekkei Genkai, S-rank, Dojutsu Raiden Clan
After extreme training in the carbon arts a new set of eyes is awakened. Both eyes change, but this time resemble carbon atoms. This change also increases the continual chakra consumption slightly. The whites of the eyes become black, and the the circles that depict the carbon atom become a light gray, while the pupil disappears altogether. Around the eyes, in a similar manner as before, have visible veins running from them. The user is able to weave the seals and extract the carbon from any object within 6 yards, without touching them. The user is able to further modify the carbon content to include carbon fiber materials and diamonds. The user is now also able to freely change between the four elements freely. Ie, turning coal to diamond, or graphite to carbon fiber.
Jutsu Used:
(Kekkei Genkai: Daiyamondo Bunshin) Bloodline Trait: Diamond Clone Rank: A, Kekkei Genkai User: Raiden Kohga Description: Due to the nature of this clone, Katon ninjutsu will be rendered useless, as diamonds (naturally) are forged in both heat and pressure. These clones are the second most durable that can be created with the KG, able to withstand a severe beating equivalent to 1.5 times an A level taijutsu technique.

The Chōmei's head looked like it wore a gigantic helmet of thick steel, and while Steggo couldn't be sure what it was it certainly bore up well to his assault. The enormous monster took no heed of his attack, simply flying at him head-on, and his strikes hit home with a loud and terrible clang that tore through the air. Steggo's ears were luckily as well-defended as the rest of him. The Beast's screams were almost deafening when it was flying several dozen feet above them, he'd known it would be horrific while attempting to stand on the thing, and so it proved. On feeling him land upon its head the monster let out an unbelievable shriek that shook every muscle in Steggo's body and had him reeling backwards in pain even with him defences for his ears. He hardened those tiny plates immediately. Chances were he wouldn't be able to hear anything Kohga tried to say to him while up here anyway but if the creature tore his eardrums he'd become dizzy and nauseated: not a great combo for riding a flying monstrosity.
Looking down, he saw that Kohga seemed to have exploded a small ring of trees, barely eighteen feet across - or was it double that? Either way it seemed to have included the one Steggo had been standing on until a few moments ago, which was comforting. How had he missed that? And what the hell had Kohga been playing at in doing it? Clearing space for a fight made sense, as did whatever those shiny clones he seemed to have formed were, but with a creature this size he'd have to flatten half the forest to make an appropriate battle area.
At that moment, the Seven Tails flattened half the forest.
Which is an exaggeration, but it certainly felt that way to Steggo. With a terrible buzzing sound it suddenly blasted downwards into the trees, straight over Kohga's head, and began ploughing through the forest, its wings churning wood and leaves apart and gouging huge great rents through the earth as it passed, ripping the landscape without halting its progress a jot, and all with Steggo along for the ride. Unable to pierce its hide, he was reduced to clinging on to the base of a wing with all his might, ignoring as he was battered with trees, churned up rocks, wooden beams, pieces of wall and finally an actual door that somehow flew up and tried to clout him in the shoulder before he swatted it aside with his tail.
Wait, a door?! Standing up, Steggo saw that they had now blasted through some ruined settlement, levelling several of the few buildings still standing. He had never been to the Village Hidden in the Leaves but could this wreck be it? He didn't have time to look as suddenly they were spinning in midair, and with another of those appalling shrieks they turned and headed back the way they came.
Action was needed, and fast. Steggo launched himself, leaping from one hand-hold on the creature's back to another and making his way down and around towards where its legs hung beneath its body. Spindly and insect-like in comparison to the rest of the creature, each was still thicker around than any tree in the forest they were now back destroying. Steggo rammed his spiked tail as hard as he could into the base of a wing and threw himself out into space, snapping himself back round and slamming his whole body into one of those legs as hard as he could and trying to use his momentum to cause the flying Beast to enter into a spin.
It worked. The monster began corkscrewing and with one more hideous howl it span over and over and over, its huge wings decimating everything around them. Rocks, branches, earth, leaves and suddenly even a solid diamond man all were thrown viciously around and about them as the great creature headed down to earth, Steggo clinging desperately with every ounce of strength to avoid being thrown off. Well no one said it was easy, this Bijuu-wrangling lark, did they?

An enormously loud metal bang rang through the air as the titan collided with the earthen clad shinobi, and not unsurprisingly, the monster kept moving forward as if he had hit a leaf in the wind. With Steggo’s weight versus Chomei’s weight and inertia, it would have been a miracle if it had worked. Again, the seven-tails roared. Loud as ever, and even more irritating. Kohga was tired of listening to the monster scream, or do whatever it was that noise was supposed to convey. His teeth gritted against one another, he had to find a way to bring the beast to the ground, obviously with the legends help. But how, that was the question. Kohga had no time to think, as within seconds the monster bore its power down onto the earth yet again, in grand fashion at that. Its bug like wings created a horrible buzzing sound, which nearly covered up the sound of cracking trees and earth being torn asunder, headed right towards the Hokage. This normally would not have been an issue, were it just trees, but since it was rocks and earth too it would prove to be more difficult. In a split second Kohga would have to make his decision. Going underground was not wise, as the beast was tearing it apart. That left two options as he saw it; Stay put, or go into the sky. This was the epitome of being stuck between a rock and a hard place. The dull-eyed man did not want to waste chakra, so he settled on taking into the air. In perfect unison he and his clone reacted. The clone kneelt before Kohga, and clasped its hands together, letting Kohga put one foot there. Using all the vigor and strength they each could muster, Kohga was rocketed upwards into the sky. Chomei’s territory. By pure luck, Kohga flew between the massive monster, and waste that lay underneath him, speeding further upwards into the sky. He looked down as he continued to travel upwards, eyeing the devastation that was beneath him. This did not sit well with Kohga. He had worked hard over the past few months, trying to rebuild the Leaf, supporting what little life lived there. The beast tore through the Leaf, tearing apart the small settlements that were there, and even washing away a four of his diamond clones. Granted, they were near unharmed, just moved several hundred yards away. Too far be of use at the moment. It was mainly the loss of life that befell the leaf yet again. At this point, his blood began to boil. * ROOOOOOOAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!* Chomei screeched again. Kohga’s eyes caught yet another glimpse of Steggo, He had used his spikes to spear the beast, but for what? His question was answered nearly before he had finished, as the bijuu rider flung himself into the side of its legs. Again it howled. Further infuriating the now freefalling man. He watched as Steggo and the monster spiraled out of control, tearing more of the forest apart, and sending yet another clone flying out of reach. Kohga’s mind went blank with fury, and his body began to move on its own. Suddenly he had lost all inhibition in regards to other’s safety. All that was in his mind now was to stop Chomei, and put in under the control of the leaf, or death. His hands wove seals in a solemn way, for in the back of his mind, Kohga knew what was going to become of the land beneath them in a few moments time. Heh, no map of Konoha, maybe even the land of fire, would be relevant tomorrow. Kohga bit a chunk of flesh from his lip and spit it into his hand, eyes glazed over and nothing but a scowl on his face. He slammed his hands together before thrusting them beneath him, and in response to the bijuu’s cry, Kohga let his own roar out at the top of his lungs. Mid yell, a massive cloud of smoke appeared under Kohga, halting his fall a little over 100 yards above the ground. Amiss the cracking of trees, a horrifying reptilian roar thundered across the landscape. The noise itself was enough to blow the remaining smoke away, revealing the newest member of the battle. In a similar way to a child calling his mother or father for help, Kohga had called upon his sensei. Sarthaan, the elder Dragon. A beast of intimidating size, its length would dwarf a bijuu, being 250 yards long. Sarthaan looked like a traditional Japanese dragon, and would claim that he is the first to meet man shortly after the bijuu were created, saying that’s the reason all Japanese dragons look like him. His long mustache like Whiskers floated in the wind, as Sarthaan laid his eyes on Chomei. He knew of the beast, but had never met it, or any bijuu for that matter. In his mind, he knew Kohga called him for a reason, and he also knew that Kohga would be punished severely for doing so. But that was to be handled later. Unaware of the man clinging for dear life onto Chomei, Sarthaan acted. With a vicioius whip of his tail, he too began to tear the forest apart. The massive reptialian tail was aimed to hit dead center of Chomei’s thorax, and with intent to send it flying. Kohga stood solemnly on the head of the giant dragon, aware that he had signed a death sentence for those in the immediate vicinity, but he viewed the Leaf as a phoenix. No matter what happened to it, it would be born again from the ashes.
Will add Sarthaan's summoning jutsu later.

Post by Steggo on Oct 30, 2016 10:02:45 GMT
Buried within a whirling inferno of leaves, branches, stone, earth and now smoke, Steggo had no idea what Kohga had done until it was too late. That smoke could've been from anything, and they were in the Land of Fire after all, but he felt no heat so maybe -
And that was as far as his train of thought reached before it was derailed, curled up into a ball and sent hurtling back to the station like a scalded insect. Which isn't far off describing what happened to the massive insect he was now clinging onto.
Unbeknownst to Steggo, the dragon had struck, and the force of the blow sent the Bijuu soaring back upwards into the sky, tumbling over and over as it was thrown hundreds of feet into the air at a rapid pace before finally spreading all six of its wings wide and catching enough air to halt itself and regain control of its movement. It hung in the air, buzzing furiously.
As part of his training in mastering the Earth element had come a mastery of knowing one's position while underground, where in a tight tunnel you might think you were one way up and actually be entirely wrong without extensive practice. This gave Steggo a superb sense of which way was up, which was a really not-fun skill to have as he too was sent tumbling over and over and over while clinging to a spinning bug soaring up into the sky after it's just been smashed for six. When it finally regained control over itself, Steggo, still holding with all five limbs to its leg and wing, finally had a chance to re-assess. Hopping upwards onto the Bijuu's head, he looked down and saw far below them a truly enormous sight. If the Beast he was riding was enormous then he needed a new word for how big this dragon was, and he was inclined to start with something like 'abso-ridiculously huge'.
"Whatever that thing is," he breathed to himself, "I really want to punch it in the face..." To his surprise, Chomei seemed to give a quiet buzz of assent, as if it too wanted to tackle that abso-ridiculously huge dragon and see just how hard it could hit it. Steggo looked down and grinned. For a while there he'd forgotten that the Bijuu was probably more intelligent than he was and could perfectly understand every word he said, for all it seemed to prefer to communicate through those terrible wailing screeches. We do become the thing we're told we are, he reminded himself. Spend a lifetime being called a beast and that's what you'll be whether you resist it or not.
"Tell you what," he said to the Chomei. "Let's you and me settle our differences first, winner gets to go punch that dragon." This brought another quiet buzzing, like a laugh that began somewhere deep down inside the Bijuu.
"Oh you don't think I can do it? Bring it on, fly-guy!" Steggo leapt upwards and span in mid-air, flipping himself over and over to build up momentum and then slamming his mighty tail downwards onto Chomei's head, smashing his spikes down with as much force as he could generate, and lo-and-behold they stabbed through, four small holes appearing in the creature's helmet-like shell as the spikes finally drew blood.
With an almighty, all-encompassing and all-surpassing, truly terrifying screech, the Bijuu flipped its body violently, tossing Steggo off its head, and then suddenly surged forwards, tackling him in the chest with its head and zooming forwards, rushing through hundreds of feet of air to slam him down and down until finally they struck the earth with a force so great they buried themselves both deep into the ground, causing a huge chasm that tore up earth and trees alike and seemed to find an underground stream as water trickled down to begin slowly filling the huge hole. The Chomei buzzed upwards again, triumphantly turning its attention towards the dragon and shrieking its challenge to it before finally launching its dreaded weapon: a massive Beast Ball, which it fired straight for Kohga, not his dragon!
Steggo, battered, bruised, bullied but never broken, emerged from the dust as the remnants of earth fell away from the Chomei's head. He had clung on, hands wrapped through the grill covering the insect's face. His ruined jaw painfully let out a small smile and the plates covering his hands began to separate and shift, revealing cracks in the palms through which a painful, blinding light shone.
"You didn't really think you were done with me, did you?" he asked, looking through the grill to unknowingly become the first human to see Chomei's actual face in several hundred years. Within it were eyes, and those eyes opened wide as realisation hit them, followed shortly after by the searing agony of Steggo's electrified Sunspots.
Having been charging towards the dragon at full-speed, the Bijuu suddenly tried to veer away upwards into the sky, blinded and unable to see where it was going, as one further scream echoed across the forest. This one wasn't of anger, or challenge, or triumph.
This scream was of sheer, blind agony.

Post by Kohga on Dec 1, 2016 9:31:02 GMT
The massive impact from Sarthaan’s tail colliding with Chomei could have been mistaken for an earthquake, which meant Kohga had needed to funnel chakra into his feet just to stay atop his monstrous master. A cloud of dust and debris was sent in all directions the instant a connection was felt, immediately followed by the launching of the giant insect. A moment later Kohga grimaced slightly, he had forgotten about Steggo in the heat of the moment, and the sudden realization of the reprimanding he was about to face did not make it any easier. That was a thought for later, for now he had to take down Chomei. The bijuu flew several hundred more feet in the air, tumbling all the while, before it gained its bearing. Then a small speck was seen bouncing upon the beast, up towards its head. It was Steggo, though he was the size of a flea on the beast, no one else could have hung on. A sigh of relief escaped Kohga’s lips, followed quickly by a snarl from his sensei, “I hope you don’t plan on me holding back to save that putrid humans life! Should I be injured here it shall be taken from your hide!” Sarthaan was not a kind and understanding master, nor did he like humans in the least. How Kohga got him to be his sensei was miraculous in and of itself, but that is another story. “No, Sensei, you are not required to hold back here. Steggo knows that we went into this battle with no intentions of restraint.” The massive dragon’s ear twinged. Through the creatures of the earth word had spread of a masterful doton user, and as such those words had reached his. With this he decided to goad his pupil, in a backhanded way of teaching him, “Now there’s a guy I would have been more apt to teach.” Kohga’s eyes glared in his masters direction, who had not even checked to see if Kohga reacted, for he knew without a shadow of a doubt that he had. “I’ll show you, sensei.” He would grumble under his breath. Up above a small buzzing was heard, much more timid than before, and no wails. Leaving the pair on the floor somewhat confused, what was going on up there. Even some of the bloodlust had dissipated. Curious. Before his thought was completed, Steggo was on the move again. This time throwing himself above the creature, and spinning violently one time and with seemingly all the force that steggo could muster, slammed his spiked tail into the monsters head. The reaction was what was to be expected when a near invincible shield is penetrated, the return of the monstrous wail known as Chomei’s roar. Steggo was then thrown rather ungracefully from the insects head, and then caught in its fury again. The two were headed down at to the earth beneath them at a frightening rate. Kohga wanted his clones to meet Steggo upon impact to soften the blow, but they were too far away to get there in time, though two were on the way. Impact. With the force of what seemed an asteroid was capable of, the two became one with the earth, and a great cloud of smoke arose. Almost in unison, Master and Pupil growled. That was one hell of a hit to take. Not even Steggo would arise from that unscathed. Seconds later the bug rose up, banishing the dust cloud with its fierce wings, and too soon decided that it had won its and Steggo’s unknown bet. Chomei seemed to shout with vigor, as a sign of its victory over Steggo, and built a bijuudama in its mouth. Sarthaan’s feet shifted ever so slightly, but that was not something that Kohga was willing to overlook. “What’s the matter master, scared of a little beast bomb?” He couldn’t pass up the opportunity to jab him a little. In truth, Kohga was uncertain as well, he had never actually tried his arm out, but go big or go home right? Kohga focused, and held up the seal for ‘kai,’ allowing his metal arm to flow with natural energy, perfectly regulating it without any ill wished side-effects. This was it, the moment of truth. Chomei released its fury filled ball of chakra, straight at Kohga. He had begun piling not only nature energy, but his own chakra into his palm. When the destructive mass was but 30 yards away, Kohga violently flung his arm outwards aimed at the ball. A large hole opened up from the center of his palm and a spiderweb-like prismatic net was cast, covering the diameter of the malevolent ball. Upon the two chakra’s meeting, Kohga started to be pushed back, but was assisted by his master’s ears which acted like cushions. Chomei turned his attention from Kohga and Sarthaan, assuming victory like he had over Steggo, but was met with a surprise, that was Steggo’s incredibly stamina and determination. Two of Kohga’s diamond Clones had arrived in time to see the tattered and near broken man drop the face guard of the seven tailed beast, a feat no man could say that had done. Upon Steggo raising his hands, the clones noticed a small speck of light before the burst of light that was to come, and vanished in a near instant, only to reappear with a chest on each of his palms and gripping his arms tight. What happened next would be hailed for years to come as the day rainbows grew from a forest. The clones diamond form amplified the electrified light that would be expelled from Steggo’s hands, sending blinding lights of every color in nearly all directions before disintegrating the clones. Should Chomei ever regain its vision, color could very well be a distant memory. On the other side of the battle field, Kohga was wrestling with the bijuu ball. His screams were muffled by the intense sound of chakra’s clashing. Yet, slowly but surely the ball was getting smaller, and simultaneously a small circular gauge on the inner part of his arm was filling up. “Master!” Kohga screamed, his voice cracking with a hint of agony and loads of distress “Redirect the ball! Now!” The ball was at half strength, and his gauge was now nearly 5/8 full, less was left than what it would require to take the entire ball. With another swing of his gargantuan tail, Sarthaan beat the ball high into the air, and as an unexpected bonus, in the now blind Chomei’s direction. Kohga stood atop the massive dragon, panting like a dog. His arm steamed from absorbing most of the massive blast. Though it felt nothing like it, this was a victory for Kohga. His arm stood against one of the most grueling tests that one could bear. “Sensei, if that ball misses,” he paused slightly out of breath, “If it misses, I’ll need your support once again.” His words were met with a grunt of approval. Kohga had made it known that he was no punk kid like he was in the old days. He was now a masterful shinobi, with plans of releasing his own type of hell in the form of a bijuu’s chakra.
Name: Arm of Retention: Model 1 Weapon/Item Rank: n/a Weapon/Item Owner: Raiden, Kohga Weapon/Item Description: Kohga's left arm has the ability to fluently control nature energy with no ill side-effects, allowing him to mold it with his own chakra. It is made of exceptionally strong materials, crafted from Kohga's KG, allowing him to strengthen or mold it as he see's fit (when the KG is active.) The arm itself has two purposes: 1) extract and absorb bijuu chakra, 2) concentrate the absorbed power into a "lazer" with the equivalent strength of the amount absorbed. ie: 1/4 gauge filled, will amount to 1/4 strength lazer in respect to a tailed beast bomb. Extracting and absorbing the chakra are done differently. When extracting the chakra, Kohga places his hand on the bijuu, and a hole opens in the center, allowing the nature chakra to latch onto the beast and being sucking bijuu chakra from it. Absorbing the Bijuu chakra is done by focusing the nature and self chakra into the palm of the arm, and releasing a web of sorts to encompass the bijuu ball or bijuu chakra attack. Weapon/Item History: (Story in Progress).

Something had gone wrong there. Horribly wrong.
Steggo allowed the plates around his eyes to clear themselves back to transparency, and blinked repeatedly, desperately trying to restore colour to his world. Even with his own reactions and his control of the plates being essentially instantaneous, he had still caught just an instant of that dreadful light. He could only thank that he had already darkened his vision against his own Sunspot or he was sure that he would be permanently blind now. The pain would surely have made him let go of the Chomei's helmet grill and left him plummeting to earth by now too.
As it was, he held fast, eyes searing with pain and streaming with tears. Steggo had developed his Sunspots with greatest care, and had learned a lot about human vision in the process. He was sure that he would make an almost complete recovery in time, but for now his vision ached and his eyes felt like balls of lava in their sockets. He shuddered to think what the Chomei had felt.
And that thought was what lead him back to the enormous insect to which he was clinging. And he realised he was high now, higher and higher as the bug rose furiously upwards and upwards into the sky, its mighty wings blasting its tremendous bulk through the clouds and up and beyond sight of the ground. The sound it made was terrible too, not those all-consuming screams as before, but a low whine. A sound of pain, but also of acceptance, and of fear.
Chomei was blind. And it was afraid.
At the peak of its arc, it suddenly began an astonishing flurry of Beast Balls, summoning up chakra and expelling it at a great rate, firing them upwards to arc down around them and vanish through the clouds. It made one after another, each much smaller than its first shot had been but firing them off every second or two, so that down below it would be raining devastation.
Steggo had meant to challenge the Beast at its best in a test of martial skill, not this. But now it was too late. Now he just had to stop it, in its grief for its own sight, from destroying the whole country.
He climbed inside the helmet's grate, and prepared himself to try to kill this poor creature. Below, it began raining Beast Balls, far and wide from the unaimed, arcing shots, landing down all around Kohga and his dragon, and leaving only decimation wherever they fell.

Kohga watched as the giant insect sped off into the sky, by some luck it managed to avoid the half strength beast bomb that Sarthaan had tossed up at it. ‘Tch. If only Chomei was lower, then I could have sensei control it while I put it under a genjutsu.’ A useless thought now, the beast was so high up now that Sarthaan would have to be able to fly to get to him. He wondered next how Steggo had faired, Kohga caught a glimpse of the man as the giant beast took flight, so he assumed that the legendary ninja was riding Chomei once again. Which would soon complicate things beyond belief. The two on the ground, could hear a faint sound, a moan of sorts. An eerie, melancholy sound, it was Chomei, the great seven-tailed beast. It was the sound of defeat, or so it would come across to Kohga and his sensei.
“We did it,” Kohga spoke to Sarthaan his breathing still somewhat heavy. “We Won. Now just comes ‘persuading’ her to fight for us.” Sarthaan watched with a worried expression, “No. She’ll make her last stand now.” True to his instinct, Chomei did just that. The blinded bijuu reared her head back and sent forth a barrage of bijuudama. Each very nearly a quarter strength of her initial blast, that had now arced back several miles and exploded. The wind reached the pair in seconds, stirring up a dust storm and blowing away the fallen trees. Konoha was near unrecognizable, and was soon about to be a hellish pit of destruction. The Hokage stood atop a giant dragon, watching the rain fall. Every second another bomb exploded. Sending debris flying into the air, trees were flung great distances, and crashed with a mighty thud, only to be drowned out by another explosion. It seemed a like a wind storm had picked up, all the concussions from so many large blasts were constantly blowing to and fro. An anguished and despaired smile came across Kohga’s face. His eyes watered up, and a single tear fell, “Heh, you were right master. Here it is; her final stand.” All Kohga wanted was to have a village that looked up to him, and one that could live in peace. Yet since Mirage’s appearance, Konoha had done nothing but suffer. Rage and despair flooded Kohga’s senses, he was unsure of what he could do to stop the beast, and also didn’t know if Steggo had it in him. Three of the four combatants were injured or tired.
Steggo, had taken a beating from the monster, and had now had his vision impaired. Chomei was blind and had searing pains float through her eyes into her brain. Finally, Kohga was tired from his first attempt at controlling three types of chakra at once. All that was left was Sarthaan, the elder dragon. Then suddenly a cloud of smoke appeared in the master dragons stead, only to reveal a falling ninja holding the sign of release. Kohga had sent Sarthaan back home, a stupid move, but his mind was compromised at the moment.
The bombs continued to fall, as the Hokage fell, blowing the smoke away with each blast. The man never lost sight of the tailed beast as he descended towards the earth, but his face of despair and twisted around into rage. For the second time today, he would try something that he had never done before: he would try the second part of his arm. Small channels along his glistening metal arm opened, as did the hole in the front. Kohga closed his eyes, listening to the wind whip his hair by his ears, and flow through his coat. Each bomb resonated within him, and he gauged how close he was to the earth. The instant he felt the earth under his feet, Kohga funneled chakra through his legs and stomach, absorbing the brutal impact. Pain rang throughout his body, but rage drove him forward. His eyes opened once again, and locked onto the poor insect above. “Goodbye.” A solemn whisper to the beast. He raised his arm and braced himself, waiting for the seconds long interval between bombs exploding, and released a terrifying blast from his arm. A thunderous noise exploded from his arm. The bijuu chakra had been concentrated to that of a beam not more than a foot in diameter, and traveled great distances with incredible speed. He would relate it to a shooting star, so fast, and gone in an instant, traveling into the sky and beyond. His aim was to pierce the center chest of the giant beast. Aiming for the head would be a certain death, but he could harm his ally in the process, or miss entirely. He also still had an inkling of hope that it could be swayed, and be used to train a jinchurikki for Kohoha. Either way, Kohga would know in the moments to come.

Chomei continued upwards as Steggo stepped inside its helmet, either unaware of his presence or now uncaring. He raised a hand, concentrating chakra into his fist and preparing to fire himself as deeply into the creature's brain as he could reach. Every second's pause let another ball of devastation fall to earth, another piece of land destroyed, more lives ended. The right choice was to kill the beast: the only choice. And yet he paused. This was so far from what he had wanted.
"I'm sorry," he whispered. "Truly."
Focusing his energy, he made to strike, but suddenly was lurched backwards as the beast's whole body shook violently. Something had struck it, and the warmth vanished from around him.
They began tumbling. From below it would be astonishing, as the mighty insect turned in midair and fell, it's body crumpling and disappearing into a bright ball of violet energy, hurtling downwards. And above it fell Steggo, his hand desperately reaching forwards, trying in vain to catch it. He controlled the plates that covered his body, blasting them away from himself one by one, each pushing him downwards that little bit faster, straining and stretching to reach the falling light. They fell so fast, tumbling downwards and downwards. Steggo stripped himself of every piece of his protection as he sought to go faster still and catch up to that plummeting light. And the light itself became smaller and smaller, until it was a tiny green flicker, and Steggos desperately stretching hand finally reached it and closed over that tiny light.
He reached it mere inches from the ground. With what energy remained to him he softened the earth below him to cushion his impact but it was still a terrible crash. He held that tiny light close to his chest though, and when the dust settled he lay in a crater of soft soil, several bones broken and his skin torn all over the place from the chabra burn he had inflicted.
But he breathed, a shallow hacking sound of a man just about alive.
"Lucky..." whispered a soft, buzzing voice...

The beam of chakra left Kohga’s arm with such force, the tired ninja could barely brace his self, and he stumbled back a few steps before tripping over a log and falling onto his hind quarters. He had missed the initial impact, but when Kohga looked up he saw the outcome. A small hole shone through the center of Chomei’s chest, and in the following moments its wings fluttered no more. The giant beast began to fall, almost in slow motion, and it’s slayer looked up remorsefully. Kohga didn’t mean to kill it, only to overpower and subdue her. Then, something unbelievable happened right before his eyes, the insect seemed to go under some metamorphosis. Chomei began to twitch and fold into nearly nothing, just a bright ball of light. It was followed closely by a speck in the sky, it was Steggo! By now the two were picking up speed, and it would see as if Steggo was smoking on his decent, a thin trail of dust from his discarded armor followed behind. Kohga stood as quickly as he could, and began to run to the spot he thought his ally would fall, on shaky legs he began to run. Molding three types of chakra had really taken it out of the Hokage, the intense chakra control and concentration didn’t seem like much in battle, but when the air cleared one could see his exhaustion. A bead of sweat dripped down his face, and passed his eye’s which he had since deactivated to save a bit of chakra and were now glistening their normal vibrant colors. He would use that little bit of saved chakra to funnel it into his muscles for one more burst of speed, hoping that he could make it in time. Kohga kept an eye on the falling pair, which now one had changed yet again. From violet, to a small dot of bright green light and still being followed by a smoking soldier. The hokage would not be able to make the catch, but could help in another way. He was not doton affinity, but still had a certain mastery over the element to which he could use as help for his plummeting ally. With a mighty kick, Kohga dug his foot into the ground and kicked a wall of fluffy earth in the direction of Steggo, hoping even to just barely break his fall, but that was the moment he lost sight of the legend. A disgusting thud was heard peppered with cracking bones, and creating a large plume of dust. “Steggo…” Kohga spoke with a wobbly voice and grin on his face, “Tch, you’re sickening.” The man walked over to the crater, now devoid of smoke due to the wind howling through the broken and flattened forest, almost as if the world was crying for it. The hokage stood atop the impact site, smiling ever so slightly as he watched the battered and broken man’s chest rise and fall. “You really are one tough son of bitch, aren’t you?! Haha!” He then slid into the crater to assess the man’s health. A rough overview showed several fractured ribs, and other bones fared worse with a full break. His skin was torn and burnt, no bleeding so that was one of the only pluses. A long sigh was heard, “Getting you back to my shack is going to be painful, Just a heads up.” He sat down beside the bruised man, “If it is still there, that is." He sat cross-legged at Steggo’s side, a wove two sets of seals, followed promptly by a ‘yikes or sorry for this type face.’ Several inches beneath Steggo a metal stretcher appeared, spanning the length of his body. On each end a Doton clone slowly rose from the earth to carry the broken legend back to Kohga’s home for healing. Kohga near collapsed onto the back of one willingly taking a ride, too. This way he could conserve chakra and stamina. It would also prove a decent way to talk to Steggo on the slow walk back. Though they were walking slowly, each Clone weighed several hundred pounds, and as such each step was not light. This was precisely why Kohga created the platform several inches beneath Steggo, so that he might have some cushion. Kohga looked over his clones shoulder, down on the man, he had but one question on his mind, “What do you think that light was, Steggo?”

"It'll need... time..." Steggo said through teeth gritted against the pain. His arm had caught the worst of the chakra burn and it's skin was torn in great strips exposing the muscle beneath to the dirt filled air. But he opened his palm to reveal a tiny green stone, less than an inch across.
"Should live though..." he managed to say through blood soaked teeth. "Bit like me." With that he started chuckling with a hacking raspy voice.
"How about the village? That rain must have destroyed so much. I should've been faster but I just..." The realisation dawned on him.
"It was you wasn't it?" he asked looking at kohga. "You managed to kill it, or try at least. Right thing, had to be done. So much destruction. But couldn't kill something so impossible..."
He held up the small gem to the light and tried running a tiny amount of chakra through it. Earth energy did nothing, but with Lightning energy the gem glowed for a moment, Steggo's arm tingled madly, and the tears down his skin repaired and knitted back together again leaving huge fresh scars all over his fresh pink skin.
"Maybe more hope than we thought..?"

Kohga watched as Steggo spoke, observing his injuries. His arm was very nearly destroyed. The flesh hung off, swaying with each step the golems took. In his hand was a small gem, green in color, that must have been what he was chasing in the sky. The remnants of the once great Seven Tailed Beast; Chomei. Then Steggo said something surprising, he said it should live. This was unprecedented, maybe in some way the bijuu were immortal? They just revert to an infant stage, this stone? This would in turn raise many more questions, but, to Kohga’s knowledge, he and Steggo were the only ones that knew this.
The man’s chuckle brought Kohga back to reality, blood left his mouth and landed on his chest, which looked as if it had begun to bruise. He asked of the village, which caused Kohga to look away with pain showing strongly on his face. Between the three of them, they had leveled nearly ¾ of the forest, had taken apart half the village (again), and destroyed several of the surrounding settlements, plus one mountain. He just hoped that this small green stone would come to be a great trade for all the damage done. He spoke of Kohga ‘killing’ Chomei, and then justified it before Kohga got a word in. Which made the Hokage feel a little better. It took a legend and the Leaf’s Strongest to bring down a tailed beast, destruction was imminent.
It was then that something rather surprising happened. Steggo fueled the stone with chakra, apparently Raiton, and his arm began to wiggle and crawl. In mere moments, months of healing occurred, leaving Kohga floored. What was this stone, and what was it capable of. Would it turn back into the seven tails? Could its power be harnessed? Could it save Konoha? Kohga had a tough decision ahead of him. He could not let this information be let out, it was imperative that it stay between the two of them. Even Hanako would not be told. He could not let Steggo leave. As it stood, Kohga was in much better shape than steggo who was broken, and had a good amount of chakra left. If it came to it, he could probably stop his ally from leaving. That was not the preferred option, though. He would rather have him stay of his own accord, having this man here would make Konoha a strong village, intimidating even.
“Steggo, this stone will stay between us, and is the property of Konoha. I cannot allow it to be found out by any other nation, or Village for that matter.” He paused momentarily. “I hope that you understand.”
Kohga hopped off the back of his clone, he had recovered enough to walk steadily on his own, after all it wasn’t a chakra deficiency that exhausted him in the first place, more a new strain. “Would you mind if I tried? I have an extensive history with ijutsu, and am ration affinity. I could be able to heal your body.” With that Kohga extended his right hand, hoping that Steggo would trust him, for in fact Kohga was being truthful. He hoped that if he healed Steggo that he would not only learn more of the stone, but create a bond between the two, giving Steggo a reason not to leave the leaf. However, that choice ultimately remained Steggo’s.

Steggo chuckled at this rather heavy-handed remark. There was a spark running through this stone now, and a warmth from it, as though it would burn clean through a man's hand if it didn't like what he tried to do with it. This wasn't some cold husk, something within it still lived.
"Do me a favour and try a different energy," he said quietly, holding his palm open to let Kohga hold the stone. "Doton got nothing but perhaps Katon? You're good with that, right?"
As soon as Kohga touched the stone he would feel suddenly 'lucky', as if all he had to do was think of something clever and the odds were with him he'd succeed. There was that warmth though, like an unspoken threat should he consider using this stone a certain way. Steggo noticed none of this, lying back and watching the sky go past above him.
He'd burned himself to save that tiny speck of hope. He fancied his chances it wouldn't now kill him. He chuckled again, not realising that he too felt 'lucky'.
