Dai grumbled to himself as he stormed down the hallway. He'd been escorted by the weird shinobi the entire way, all the while attracting odd looks. An albino child carrying a huge sycthe wasn't THAT out of place, surely? Speaking of which, he couldn't understand why they wouldn't let him keep it. He felt naked without ole' faithful, and didn't know why he couldn't wield it. Surely, if this Kage was worth his salt, he wouldn't be afraid of anyone, and wouldn't feel the need to make people give up their weapons. No doubt they'd left it there, sitting amongst everyone else's kit, gathering dust. He felt so dirty giving it up, like leaving a child of his own at the Kirigakure ninja Academy a few years back. People still talked about that, a lot of people tried to scare him with the story while he was traveling over. Of course, the kind of people who'd try to scare the child with a weapon bigger than himself were pretty weird to begin with, so it came as no surprise to him that they failed miserably. Some of the older people there actually seemed annoyed they'd stopped but, once again, they were nuts.
Neptune struggled to keep up with him as he paced down. The walls were adjourned with notable figures from the past, this Mizukage seemingly having some weird fascination with times gone by. One in particular, a few paintings down, looked off to him. The man in it had this unnerving grin, and his eyes seemed so knowing that Dai wondered whether he himself was watching. But, creepy figures from the past aside, the teen was pissed, and so kicked the door open, a look of pure fury present on his face. "Oi!" He called.

Most Kages found themselves swamped in administrative work. New reports had to be filed, documents approved, and the like. Sugoi was no exception; except he had the sense to hire a few secretaries, and actually delegate responsibility. Nonetheless, ridiculous amounts of inane documents still managed to find themselves onto their desk. At present, he was pouring over something rather interesting to him. It related to the positioning of Kirigakure's numerous naval vessels, and whether to place them in a suitable position for an invasion of the mainland. Whether they would go through with it was another question entirely, but at present there was nobody who could exactly stop them. With every major village except Kiri in utter ruins, and the minor ones not much better, the Mist ninja could sweep halfway across the continent before even finding a force to fight. These musings were cut woefully short by his precious door being kicked down. Well, that's quite the entrance. Sugoi would reflect, as the figure of a young boy became apparent. He recalled that Kano had always kept a sign threatening people with the removal of their hands unless they knocked. Maybe I should get my own sign? Then again, the difference between me and you, sensei, was that you were crazy enough to go through with it.
Looking up from his work with a bemused grin, Sugoi would raise an eyebrow. "Well, aren't you something?" He asked. Something about his boisterous energy and grandiose entrance seemed all too familiar to the Mizukage, but he didn't find it unpleasant. The kid certainly had spunk, and he wasn't one to disrespect that. If one of his shinobi had an internal fire, Sugoi would gladly stoke it, pushing them to be the very best that they could be. He himself had it, his sensei Kano had it, and all of his students had it. "What's your name, kid?" He asked, not above condescending the kid, just a bit. After all, messing with some hotshot kid's ego provided endless entertainment.

Dai wasn't quite sure what he'd been expecting. The people of the Mizu no Kuni spoke of a veritable monster who resided over the hidden Mist. Apparently ten feet tall and constantly furious, the more superstitious amongst them believed him to be a literal force of nature. What he saw was a benign looking man, admittedly of an impressive stature, who looked perpetually bemused. All in all, a big idiot. "The name's Dai. Dai Washi." He replied, gruffly. "And I came here looking for you." Dai crossed his arms proudly, the announcement of his intention pumping fuel into his ego. He had just condescended a Kage.

Washi? Sugoi thought. So wrapped in he was this that he ignored Dai's strange power play, and fell into contemplation. "Washi? Where are you from?" He demanded. In his youth the last branch of the Washi clan had been scattered; the assailant unknown. Sugoi himself had been abducted by eagles, and thus unable to witness it. An odd irony, his namesake was what protected him from its downfall. However, were it not coincidence, it was entirely possible that the boy opposite him was related to him, if only distantly. The familiarity was beginning to warp, take clear form. The boy standing before him was almost a perfect mirror of his own juvenile self, albeit with an albino complexion and odd self-awareness. If he came looking for me then perhaps he's wondering the same thing. Sugoi's mind drifted back to the grave he'd found all those years ago. On a mission under Kano's tutelage, he'd seen his own last name emblazoned on a tomb stone. At the time he'd been perplexed that a Washi could have also, by sheer chance, found their way across the known world to the farthest point from Sunagakure. When the man had died was unclear, but it would seem that there were other members, scattered around the world, living in isolation. This kid was just the first one smart enough to figure it out, and he himself the first to come to prominence.

Dai was disgruntled that Sugoi hadn't acknowledged him finding him, but resolved to answer his question nonetheless. "Takigakure." He replied. A few moments later, he decided to divulge more of his past. "Dad always talked about some 'Bastard King' and how my great, great-grand uncle's cousin or something followed him there, after some big fight in the clan." More details returned to Dai's mind, vague stories from childhood, long forgotten yet still buried in his subconscious. "Dad always told me I should look for any Washi I could find, re-establish the clan or something." The teen then placed a contemplative finger to his chin. "Never really knew why."

"Well then, you've certainly made quite a trek." Sugoi remarked. The sheer distance made him seem to have intentions of espionage, but were one to actually be spying, they would no doubt choose a less innocuous alibi. If this kid's being serious... Sugoi reflected to himself. If he existed, it was entirely possible that there were others; Washi members living in obscurity, only just becoming aware that their name had been spread wide. "Well, in that case, you're perfectly welcome amongst our ranks. Tomorrow you'll be given a test of your capabilities, and assigned a rank accordingly." He explained, gesturing to Neptune, still standing dutifully by the door. "Find the kid somewhere to stay." His attendant nodded. As the two left, Sugoi reclined in his chair. There are others... With that, he reached for a fresh piece of paper, there were countless documents to create, orders to be issued. The albino had changed the situation indelibly, and a bold new future stood before Sugoi.

Dai was essentially dragged out by this Neptune character, and he certainly wasn't happy about it. Unable to get a word in edgewise, it seemed that his future had been decided for him. He hadn't been certain that he wanted to become a Mist Genin, but now it seemed inevitable. Dai wasn't sure how kindly the Mist took to desertion, but the rumors surrounding the Mist Hunters weren't exactly pleasant. Regardless, he'd get a feel for the place, and then decide his next course of action. But first, his Scythe.
