Given Name's Meaning: Great, Wonderful, Fantastic.

--------------------------------------------------------------
Physical Description:
Hair: Sugoi's hair is a dark brown, being wavy and reaching to the back of his neck. A wild style is typical for the man, partially due to choice, and partyl due to neglect. The degree of which he blames it on depends how busy his past week has been.
Eyes: Blue.
Physique: A gargantuan man, Sugoi towers over most of his shinobi peers. Beyond his imposing height, Sugoi has an impressive physique, something typically disadvantageous to a shinobi, yet a great weapon in Sugoi's arsenal. With tanned skin, Sugoi stands out from the usually pale natives of Kirigakure, a testament to his ancestral home of Sunagakure.
Other: On his forehead, a brand of the Kirigakurean symbol can be found, burnt into his head for past altercations by the man who would become his sensei. For this reason, he has grown his hair over his forehead, concealing the mark.
Clothing: Since becoming Mizukage, Sugoi has adopted a more traditional style of dressing, contrasting his traditionally pragmatic clothing choices. Whether a reflection of the changed nature of his duties, or merely a stylistic choice, is unknown to everyone, including the man himself.
Head: None.
Upper Body: Sugoi wears a robe that covers his entire body, fitting quite loosely on the top of his body. Being white on top, it can be easily taken off, hanging loosely at his sides if he grows involved in an especially intense battle.
Arms/Wrist/Hands: Sugoi has a pair of bandages covering each of his forearms. Their exact purposes are unknown.
Legs: The dark blue bottom half of his robe covers Sugoi's pants underneath, meaning that in an emergency, he can discard the entire object, without running around his underwear.
Feet: A pair of wooden gata are Sugoi's footwear of choice, despite not being particularly practical.
Other: None.
Personality: A man wizened beyond his years by his position, Sugoi displays a sense of pragmatism and calm collection unusual for a young man. He is a laid back individual, still finding as much time for fun and relaxation as he can, despite his rank. He is often seen at local restaurants, sampling their fare on the breaks and doing his best to interact with the villagers. He is deeply committed to his village, and those he cares for, doing his utmost to protect them, to the point of patronizing them, not wanting them to be hurt under any circumstance.
A humorous individual, Sugoi is amazingly good natured and friendly for the Kage of the world's most violent and bloodthirsty village. He has a rather sardonic attitude towards most things, agitating the village council through his seeming lack of care. Nonetheless, Sugoi can choose his battles, and knows when things need to be taken seriously, even if he makes a few jokes in bad taste.
Despite his initial idealism, Sugoi has begun to accept the violent attitude of Kirigakurean shinobi and civilians as a reality, and accepts it as an ingrained part of the culture. He takes an intermediate stance between his sensei's 'Brotherhood of the Mist', which involved the shinobi of the Mist unifying and resembling Konohgakure in their stance, and his predecessor's hardline idea of allowing the ninja to run amok. Sugoi has indeed kept Kirigakure in relative isolation, but has not been acting hostile towards any of the other ninja villages.
A shinobi hardened by past mistakes, Sugoi never underestimates his opponents, moving past old mistakes. He battles by his own motto of 'Expect the unexpected and you'll never be surprised', always anticipating his opponent to have some form of unorthodox style, jutsu or ability. Although this may mean his weakness is indeed just a totally generic shinobi, this has yet to be tested.
In spite of his newfound mellow nature, Sugoi still has a gargantuan temper, although he is more proficient at suppressing it. Characteristic of his personality, when Sugoi does fly off the handle, things inevitably end up getting ugly. Fast. Furthermore, a degree of stubbornness remains in the Kage. Determination is embedded into the psyche of Sugoi, and an integral part of his being. He will not relent, and rarely ever changes his stances or withdraws from an argument. Once his mind has been made up about something, it is very difficult to change it, and this can be to the detriment of his decisions.

Sugoi was actually born in Sunagakure, growing up in the village as part of the prestigious Washi family. The youngest of all his siblings, Sugoi was the only one to never serve in the village's shinobi corps as, when he was young, he went on an 'adventure' and ended up hopelessly lost, never to return home. Still a child at the time, trained only in the basics of the shinobi arts, Sugoi seemed doomed to death as he wandered the Land of Wind. However, by a quirk of fate, the eagle known as (INSERT NAME HERE) was flying overhead, and took pity on the boy for an unknown reason. He extended the offer to bring the boy back to Mount (INSERT NAME HERE) and Sugoi, not having anything to lose, agreed.
For the next few years, Sugoi was raised by eagles, and actually met his own companion, the eagle known as Yami. The two became inseparable, and the eagle agreed to become his ninja companion. During this time, Sugoi developed an unusual amount of physical strength as well as stamina due to his upbringing constituting altitude training. However, this would not become apparent until later, when he returned to the ground. After several years of training with the Eagles, Sugoi was gifted the blade known as Shinokami by them, a powerful weapon that befitted his physical strength. At the age of twelve, the Eagles decided that it was time for their prodigy to return to the world of the shinobi, and thus sent him on his way. Due to the geographical position of the island, it was easiest to fly him to Kirigakure, in addition to the fact that a previous owner of the contract, unknowingly also a Washi, had resided there.
Upon arrival, Sugoi found it difficult to acclimatize to everyday life, either having no idea about certain elements of society, or behaving like a child. With the ninja of Kirigakure being sufficiently suspicious about a twelve year old claiming to have been raised by eagles, while having a knowledge of ninjutsu, after a period of questioning, he was eventually enrolled in the Kirigakure ninja academy, and passed rather quickly, already knowing most of the basics. Brash, loud, and overconfident, Sugoi acted several years younger than he was, and certainly didn't have the mind of a shinobi. Despite obsessive training, he remained easily angered, and held a great deal of arrogance. His only real friend was Yami, his eagle companion, and he found it difficult to make many friends.
One of his first acts in the village was to battle then Mizukage, Kano Mitzuki. Not recognizing the man as the leader of the village, Sugoi ended up in a battle with him, and proceeded to have his ass handed to him. Shortly thereafter, he was put under Rin Emiko's tutelage, and proceeded to have his ass handed to him, again in a fine display of Kirigakure's secret training techniques. Regardless, it was here that Sugoi developed his interest in Genjutsu, and made his greatest mistake. Delving through the depths of Kirigakure's library, he deduced that Kano was indeed an Ikazuchi, which he revealed to the man. And, with this, he was defeated. Given the choice between death and life, Sugoi chose the latter, but was branded with the symbol of Kirigakure, a mark that his then sensei bore as well. What Sugoi would come to recognize as a symbol of forgiveness.
Becoming dedicated to the village, vowing to never make the same mistake again, Sugoi descended into a period of darkness, and eventually ended the life of his best friend, Yami, eating the eagle. Raw. Although believing it to be an achievement at the time, it is now Sugoi's greatest regret. However, once this had happened, Sugoi miraculously began to mellow, starting to meet some of his fellow Genin, such as the bird tamer, Kuriah, or the mad monk, Tsubasa. For the first time in his life, Sugoi actually had friends, although it was more of a rivalry with Kuriah, with a mutual dislike eventually forming a friendship. During this time, Sugoi was bought before Kano, who had decided that Sugoi had been squandering his potential for too long, and resolved to teach him some humility.
Faring better in this fight, Sugoi was bought under the man's wing after the fight, and began to train. It was here that he developed his philosophy of pushing oneself beyond their limits, with Kano's ruthless training methods increasing the boy's skills dramatically. Eventually, during a training session in which Kano disappeared in a portal, coincidentally not the strangest thing to have happened to Sugoi, he ended up defeating and killing a Chunin of the Leaf, who still believes to have gone rogue or have been mounting a one man invasion.
Eventually battling fellow Genin Toshio for the title of Chunin, they were both given the position, and Sugoi disappeared for a few months, seeking out the Washi family's traditional weapon, which Sloth, something that he learned about after the discovery of a Washi family member's grave in Kirigakure, followed by some reading into his family's history. After locating it, Sugoi returned, serving a stint as Chunin of the village, actually descending into a madness induced by a combination of demented Jashinism, and a malevolent spirit contained within Jashin's Waterfall. After this was removed, Sugoi returned to normalcy, but was shaken, and thus left in order to better his skills and find himself once more, as well as seek out the truths behind the Washi family.
During this time, he journeyed to what was then the ruins of Kumogakure, and met a mysterious figure; being the former Hokage, Marukai Zephon. The two battled, and Sugoi was defeated, before being taken to the man's headquarters. When there, the Chunin was invited to join his organization, which was working behind the scenes to ensure the world's stability. Agreeing, Sugoi was trained by the man, learning what is now his signature technique, Destructive Strength, as well as the Pressure Fist style. Satisfied, Zephon placed a seal on Sugoi, removing his memory of the time and implanting a false recollection of harsh training in the desert, during which he miraculously invented both techniques.
Returning for the Ori Island tournament, hosted in Sugoi's home village, and the very place where he had been branded, he was defeated within moments by the teen who would go on to win the tournament, underestimating his opponent once more, and foolishly impeding his vision with mist. Despondent, and lacking in purpose, his fellow Chunin, Youji, found him in Goryo Forest, and told him to find himself, and his purpose, something which would very much influence Sugoi later on. Taking on a student, Shatomaru Shi, only to lose him to Ypuji shortly thereafter, the teen's days mostly dragged on, with little changing beyond the fact he was named Kano's attendant, following Feril's mysterious resignation.
However, after Kano left on one of his many trips of self discovery, he failed to return, and through a combination of a market crash, mass hysteria, and the bloodlust inherent in the Mist, the village descended into anarchy of sorts. Although the village council retained control, and many shinobi remained on active duty, swathes of the village descended into rioting, with widespread property damage a mere byproduct of it. The village continued to function to a degree, but was utter chaos on the inside. Sugoi formed a group known as Current, rising from the ashes of the Mist Hunters, with the organization beginning to disintegrate over time, a lack of central command structure leading many to desert or form their own splinter cells. Nobody offered to step up to the position of Kage, with it being reserved for Kano upon his return, until Youji was able to end much of the carnage, assuming the role of Mizukage, on the provision that he would resign upon Kano or Hibiki's return.
After the Mist was re-established, Sugoi's covert unit became the village's secret operatives, acting as the undercurrent of the waves, those who supported the village. Most of those who were a part of it had been mere civilians when Sugoi found and trained them, including his two lieutenants, Neptune, and Trident, the latter of which was Sugoi's best student, who had been a young girl when he'd found her, but Sugoi began to accept shinobi as well. Youji acted as the public figure, whilst Current were the muscle, holding the village together. Being promoted to Jonin, Sugoi was once again assigned a student, Bofuu Mizu, and continued to hone his own skills. During this time, a mysterious individual, claiming godhood, attacked the village with a dragon, of all things. Fighting him to a standstill, Sugoi repulsed the threat.
Eventually, Youji left to pursue the Three Tailed Beast, catching wind it was nearby, and never returned. Exactly what happened to him was unclear, but the beast's attack was all too obvious. Sugoi stood as the village's last line of defense; engaging in an epic struggle for Kirigakure's survival. However, even he was unable to end the beast's rampage, and eventually fell to his knees. Content to die, Sugoi charged towards the beast as it powered up a Tailex Beast Bomb, only for it to be sealed away, much to his surprise. Upon arrival at a nearby building, Sugoi found that Neptune was restraining the beast in a sealing circle, using the chakra of several Current operatives. He explained that they needed someone to seal it in, and a strong sacrifice. Sugoi offered to sacrifice himself, with Trident becoming the host; but she rejected this, and claimed that the village needed Sugoi more. Neptune began the ritual, and Sugoi was the new Jinchuriki of the Sanbi.
Being made the provisional Mizukage at the time, Sugoi eventually assumed the office fully, and oversaw the rebuilding of Kirigakure. Using the destruction as an excuse to overhaul the village, Sugoi has presided over a period of great economic success, with many of those who'd migrated to nearby countries returning to Kirigakure, confident in its stability for the first time since Kano's reign. A year onwards, Sugoi is ready to face any of his village's issues.
